PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is also known by the trademark TEFLON. The material resin is produced through emulsion poly-addition and suspension poly-addition processes, generating a material with a unique set of features; an insoluble and infusible polymer of very high chemical resistance.
It is widely used in all industry segments due to its unmatched chemical inertia features and excellent thermal resistance, with service temperature of 260ºC. PTFE also has low adhesion and excellent resistance to friction, reducing material wear.
The only chemical features that can attack PTFE plastic are liquid alkali metals, plus some fluorine pressure bonds and temperatures beyond those supported. It withstands temperatures from -200ºC to + 260ºC.
