Nylon

Nylon is a thermoplastic obtained from polyamide 6, whose excellent mechanical, electrical and thermal properties allow the most varied applications in various branches of industry. It usually replaces structural and construction metals, taking into account their lightness, electrical insulation, lower cost and low coefficient of friction.

Advantages

Advantages

It has high tensile strength, elasticity, toughness and abrasion, keeping its mechanical properties constant even at high or low temperatures, from -40ºC to + 100ºC. With easy machining, good wear and chemical resistance, it also has a low noise that dampens vibration and weight.

Application

A lighter plastic for manufacturing industrial parts. Applicable in the most diverse branches of the industry, in materials such as gears, bushings, racks, pulleys, threads, pulleys, scraper blades, gaskets, screws, sealing rings, cutting bases, wear plates and sliding plates.

Extra Information

It has resistance to common solvents, but it can be dissolved by phenols and formic acid. Some materials become brittle after prolonged exposure to sunlight – it is preferable to use black materials.
